Classic TV Theme: O'Hara US Treasury (Jack Webb)
After 'Dragnet' Jack Webb moved his focus to the feds, where he tried to make an IRS investigator the hero of a series. That may have been a bridge too far even for Sgt Friday. David Janssen was the star, and the fittingly martial theme was by William Lava and Ray Heindorf, the latter having presided over the Warner Bros music department for many years.

Cryptos Fall Again on New Treasury $10,000 IRS Reporting Rules: How Bad Is It?
Why did cryptos fall today again? Bitcoin and other cryptos fell again today after the news that the Treasury department will require businesses to report cryptocurrency investors to the IRS if they transact $10,000 or more in cryptos. This is similar to the current Treasury reporting rules for cash. Currently you have to fill out an IRS Form 8300. Will it stop there or will they include anti money laundering laws for structuring like they have for cash. The Treasury can make it illegal to structure multiple cryptocurrency transactions under $10,000 if they see a pattern of trying to avoid the filing limits for IRS Form 8300. Is this new bad for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin and other cryptos or does this give them new legitimacy in the eyes of the IRS? The IRS is coming for crypto investors...

We have asked the U.S. Department of Treasury to commit to making changes so that there is transparency and accountability in the process. We raised up that unemployment and underemployment has made it impossible for many people to pay their mortgages and we must recognize that there are local areas that need assistance for unemployed homeowners. We will continue to press for financial reform legislation to include protections for homeowners and renters in foreclosed properties.

The IRS is coming for crypto investors who have not been reporting tax gains. It has been reported in financial news websites like the Wall Street Journal that the IRS has two investigations into Circle, Poloniex and Kraken. With the IRS coming for crypto investors, how do you keep current with your filing requirements? I explain how the IRS categorizes cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and what your filing responsibilities are now and possibly in the future. Currently, cryptocurrency is treated like a stock and all trading in it generates short term gains or long term capital gains that must be reported to the IRS on your taxes.
Be @financially aware of the tax and reporting requirements of cryptocurrencies before you consider investing in them.
